Form One Physics Examinations New Syllabus 2025

These examinations are prepared according to the updated syllabus for Form One students and include Midterm, Terminal, Annual, and Monthly assessments for the year 2025.

Categories of Examination Questions and Their Features

1. Multiple Choice Questions

Multiple choice items consist of a question or statement followed by several possible answers. Among the options provided, only one answer is correct while the remaining options act as distractors.

Students answer by selecting the correct option, usually by circling a letter or number, or shading the correct response on an answer sheet.

2. True or False Questions

True or false questions present students with statements that must be identified as either correct or incorrect.

Learners respond by writing “True” if the statement is correct or “False” if it is incorrect.

Example:
True or false questions allow only two possible responses.

3. Matching Items

Matching questions require students to connect items from one column with the correct items in another column. For example, students may match terms with their definitions or events with corresponding dates.

These questions mainly assess memory and recognition skills. They are simple to prepare and grade, although students may need more time to complete them compared to multiple choice or true/false questions.

4. Short Answer Questions

Short answer questions require brief written responses ranging from one word to a few sentences.

They are commonly used to measure students’ understanding of important concepts, facts, dates, and vocabulary.

5. Essay Questions

Essay questions provide students with broad prompts that require detailed written explanations. Responses may range from a few paragraphs to longer discussions.
